II OF BY-LAWS
Principal Purposes
OBJECTS
AND PURPOSES. The principals objects and purposes of the Association
are:
To protect and promote the progress, the development, welfare and
interests of the growers, shippers, packers,
distributors and handlers of fresh produce of California and Arizona;
to secure cooperative action in advancing the
common purposes of its members, foster quality in business usages,
and promote activities aimed to enable the industry to conduct itself
with the greatest economy and efficiency.
ARTICLE
III OF BY-LAWS
Membership
Section
1. ELIGIBILITY AND CLASSIFICATION. Membership in the Association
shall be confined to growers,
shippers, packers, brokers, distributors, wholesalers, receivers and
jobbers of fresh produce of California and Arizona
and all affiliated and related suppliers and industries. Membership
shall be of three kinds, Regular, Limited Regular,
and Associate, and classified as follows:
(a) REGULAR MEMBERSHIP, comprising growers, shippers, and packers
of fresh produce in California and Arizona.
(b) LIMTED REGULAR MEMBERSHIP, comprising Regular Members no longer
actively engaged in the growing, packing or shipping of fresh produce
which former Regular Members continuously maintained Regular membership
in the Association for the five (5) year period immediately preceding
the discontinuance of their growing, packing or shipping of fresh
produce.
(c) ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP, comprising brokers, distributors, wholesalers,
receivers, jobbers, commission merchants of fresh produce and all
affiliated and related industries, including, but not limited to,
accountants
and other professional services, airplane dusting services, associations,
banking institutions, manufacturers of
carloading equipment, communications, containers, decals, farm and
packing house equipment, fertilizers and
insecticides, ice, vacuum and pre-cooling, shook, paper, packaging,
labels, lithography, printing, seed houses,
transportation companies and transportation brokers.
